Kaunas University of Technology, implementing the Erasmus+ KA171 project, aimed to purposefully expand the network of cooperation with higher education institutions outside the European Union. The project reflected the priority of internationalisation in the KTU strategy and the aim to strengthen academic diversity by bringing together partners from different cultural and geopolitical contexts. One of the main objectives was to foster long-term institutional partnerships that could lead to joint study programmes, research projects or doctoral mobility. The aim was also to strengthen the bilingual and intercultural environment of the university by promoting the use of English in studies, the integration of newcomers and the development of staff competences. The project provided a platform to deepen institutional competences, from application preparation to quality mobility management with third countries. Finally, the aim was to develop a model of responsible integration that ensures the full inclusion of participants in the university community.
