Objectives

The project aimed at providing support to prospective and current entrepreneurs in rural areas in strengthening their businesses/business ideas by transferring knowledge related to circular and resource efficient business models & digitalization. Further, partners aimed to strengthen connections among entrepreneurially minded people in rural areas, support availability of training around CE, promote 'Green Responsible Entrepreneurship' and digital skills. The project connected rural entrepreneurs and empowered them through digital and green skills in rural areas in three partner countries. The needs were identified by conducting surveys and collecting data from rural entrepreneurs. Then, training models were developed and tested with rural entrepreneurs. The re:GREEN Training Programme was set up for immediate practical use, bridging the skills gap, promoting inclusion, and demonstrating how learning could interconnect innovatively to produce improvement through non-formal adult education.

Background

Green & Digital Transitions and CE, in the EU, are measures for driving responsible production & consumption. Through the transnational connections focused on non-formal adult education the re:GREEN partnership addressed knowledge transfer and training needs of Rural Entrepreneurs (REs). Green and digital skills training, as outlined in the EU action plans, are part of these transitions. re:GREEN provided learning opportunities to those in the rural areas which tend to have fewer opportunities to learn due to concentration of skills-development and training activities in urban areas. re:GREEN empowered & prepared the target group (REs) to be part of these transitions. The project contributed to awareness-raising and skills related to responsible patterns of production & consumption. Partners addressed the need for learning methodologies suited to REs. Moreover, learning content with CE focus and based on entrepreneurial approach will further empower REs through incorporation of CE practices in their commercial activities, after the end of the project. Results of the project will remain available to trainers and learners to enable them to take initiative and address through green, digitally supported & responsible entrepreneuring.
