The objective of the ComfyHouse project was to develop and implement an innovative, tailored-made educational programme for teachers and pupils based on STEAM approach that would increase kids’ understanding of the renovation of houses for their energy efficiency purposes. The overall objective was in line with the European Green Deal Strategy.
We applied for this project in order to build and implement the STEAM approach to partners’ educational programmes, to increase the knowledge and skills about the energy efficiency, as well as to strengthen the international collaboration between schools and educating institutions. When it comes to the needs of the target groups, we aimed at responding to the challenges of three target groups: teachers, kids and local authorities. Teachers in their daily activity had the need to strengthen the STEAM approach and give pupils the possibility of developing STEAM skills. According to the school headteachers their employees had no tools, or knowledge in a successful implementation of programmes supporting STEAM in climate change. Through the participation in the Erasmus project for the first time, they learned how this model works, and they were ready to submit another application in the following round. They learnt about the cultural experiences between regions. The second need of the project was to increase kids awareness about the climate change consequences and their abilities to combat it. Before the project has started kids were tested about their knowledge about the energy efficient housing renovations.
