Objectives

By fostering inclusive societies, encouraging constructive dialogue, supporting mental health and wellbeing, advancing opportunities for rural youth, ensuring high-quality employment and education, providing space and opportunities for participation for everyone, and supporting a sustainable, green Europe, the project aimed to address several priorities within the EU Youth Strategy 2019–2027. The project aimed to foster youth engagement in democratic life, encourage social and civic engagement, and give young people the tools they need to fully participate in society, all of which are goals of the EU Youth Strategy. The purpose of the council simulator project was to give young people a hands-on example of how local government functions in order to encourage their participation in local decision-making, especially in Kaunas. The aim of this effort was to involve young people, municipal council members, and other interested parties in order to produce suggestions and plans for enhancing youth involvement in politics. The goals of this project were to close the divide between youth and decision-makers, promote a feeling of European project belonging, and rectify democratic deficiencies that feed youth euroskepticism. Participants might support the efficacy and continuation of youth council activities by sharing the knowledge and abilities they gained from the initiative, thereby advancing inclusion and equality in all levels of decision-making.The goal of the project was to develop a council simulation game that would be educational, simple to grasp, entertaining, and supportive of young people's opinions and expertise as they were important and necessary for making policy decisions. Main objectives were: O1) Create space and participation opportunities for all youth, including marginalized and rural groups, by fostering inclusive societies and ensuring their voices are heard in political and social discussions;O2) Promote constructive dialogue between young people and decision-makers to enhance mutual understanding and cooperation; O3)Activate young people in local decision-making processes through practical demonstrations and participation in a council simulator project; O4) Bridge the gap between young people and decision-makers to foster a sense of belonging to the European project and address democratic deficits among youth.
