By implementing this project we wanted to achieve the key 4 objectives: 1. Raise awareness about environmental challenges and climate-change among youth in participating countries. 2. Inform, involve and educate young people in the topic of sustainability in our daily lives by providing them a resource and tool in regards of more conscious and sustainable way of everyday living. 3. Collect innovative practices from each participating country (city) by creating a tool ‘’Green Compass map’’ which would include eco-friendly places and businesses aiming to support and promote environmentally-friendly approach in our daily life. 4. Empower young people to take action, stimulate their active participation and generate change by inspiring others to make changes in their everyday behavior through "Green Challenges" and awareness raising campaigns.
Our main motivation to implement this project was to establish the engagement and connection directly involving youth in environmental activities/actions. We believe that direct youth participation and action gives them a voice and role in designing new climate actions, helps to share information among peers and be an example that others can follow. Additionally, our motivation was to create meaningful and long-lasting material for European organizations working with environment and sustainability topic with aim to inform, involve and educate young people in the topic of sustainability in our daily lives by providing them a resource and tool in regards of more conscious and sustainable way of living. The main needs were: 1) Lack of initiative and knowledge among youth how they can contribute to environmentally friendly solutions, how youth participation and initiatives can contribute to the success of the European Green Deal. 2) The urgent need in the European countries of youth innovative and ambitious approach towards sustainable and environmental friendly future.
