Objectives

In implementing the "EnterpriseYou" project, we aimed to achieve several important goals. Firstly, we wanted to create and test a new methodological tool based on non-formal education principles, which would help develop youth entrepreneurship skills through non-formal methods. This tool is designed for various topics such as creativity, ecology, financial literacy, social inclusion, motivation, communication, and sharing best practices. Additionally, we sought to improve the competencies of those working with youth so they could more effectively organize non-formal entrepreneurship training sessions. We also aimed to increase youth motivation and their ability to realize business ideas, particularly focusing on social entrepreneurship. Another important long-term goal of the project was to reduce youth unemployment and help disadvantaged youth integrate into the labor market and society. We believe this was achieved by training youth workers to incorporate non-formal entrepreneurship activities into their work, as described in the methodological tool. Finally, we wanted to raise public awareness about the importance of entrepreneurship education and contribute to the implementation of the European Youth Work Agenda.

Background

The goal of the project was to improve youth entrepreneurship education opportunities by creating a new methodological tool based on non-formal education principles. We chose to implement this project because youth unemployment and career uncertainty are significant issues in Lithuania, Iceland, and Spain. The need for this project was based on a review of youth entrepreneurship education and the current situation in all three countries and their regional youth entrepreneurship contexts. Together with our partners, we aimed to create a universal methodological tool that would enable those working with youth to develop entrepreneurship skills in areas such as creativity, ecology, financial literacy, social inclusion, motivation, communication, and best practices. The target group was disadvantaged youth who face challenges integrating into the labor market due to financial difficulties, remote living locations, or a lack of social skills. With the help of the created methodological tool, we aimed to and have now created opportunities to continue integrating these young individuals into the labor market and society, focusing on social entrepreneurship and, in the long term, reducing youth unemployment and career indecision.
