Our students need to be prepared for the European labour market, which does not stop at borders, especially in Luxembourg, so that they can start their careers in the best possible way. But they also need to be made aware of the opportunities offered by the European labour market so that they can venture beyond the borders of this small country. It is therefore extremely important for us to also offer internships abroad, which enable young people to expand their skills and develop new ones through a longer stay abroad and working in a company so that they can use them later, not only at school but also in their professional and private lives. It is important for us as an organisation that staff (school management, teachers, etc.) also have the opportunity to exchange ideas. This is the only way that our school can continue to develop qualitatively, as impressions from outside promote reflection on our own practice and encourage cooperation and innovation in a wide variety of areas. In view of the increasing xenophobia in Europe, it is also important for us to bring people/nations together for constructive exchange.
Our school is a so-called "Lycée technique". We offer classes in the "inférieur": grades 7-5, both in the "voie d'orientation" and in the "voie de préparation". In the "supérieur" area, i.e. from year 4 onwards, we offer the "régime technique", "technicien" or "diplôme d'aptitude professionnelle" classes. A BTS completes the diverse range of courses offered by our school, which specialises primarily in the area of sustainability. Our very multicultural school community is also increasingly characterised by students who take advantage of the French-language classes here in Ettelbruck, which are unique in the North, to obtain a recognised qualification. If you want to prepare young people for their future careers, you need to be in constant contact with the professional world to ensure that their education is practical and future-orientated. Internships are essential to promote this practical orientation.
