Objectives

Improving and improving the knowledge of the English language of pupils through new and interactive learning methods. Build the prestige of the school in the local community and attract pupils at the high school stage. Thanks to the teachers learned in the course, they were able to better and more up-to-date organise a learning process that enabled pupils to develop English-language skills that evolved, while constantly communicating in English during classes and during joint work and activities and learning the latest English trends. Provide support for the acquisition of English for pupils with special needs. As students in special educational programmes are also studying at New Balga High School, it is important that these pupils receive the most high-quality and supportive learning process possible, based on the individual capacity of each child. It is important for us that these pupils who study in our school not only raise their knowledge, but also do not stop teaching before time.

Background

Our school needed to strengthen the teaching of English from first grade to high school successfully offer English learning at an in-depth level. From the results of the English exams in recent years, we could see that the level of English knowledge in school had fallen slightly. Remote learning also contributed to this. As a result, the school had decided to strengthen English training and, as one of the tools, saw the continuing training of teachers in courses abroad. These courses allowed teachers to acquire knowledge and skills that were not available here in Latvia. The second reason was the need to improve support for students with learning disabilities and mild mental backwardness. These pupils are at greater risk of leaving school early without obtaining a certificate on basic or secondary education. It was our school's job to increase the professional development of teachers, thereby also improving the level of education in our school.
