University of Latvia is the largest and most influential higher education institution in Latvia, playing a significant role in both the development of the national education system and economic growth. As a leading center for science and studies, the strategic goal of the University of Latvia is to strengthen internationalization and become an international center for scientific cooperation and development. The Erasmus+ programme in the higher education sector is one of the most effective tools for achieving these goals, especially in cooperation with partner countries outside Europe. The project's priorities are to promote international knowledge transfer, improve the quality of the study process, and increase the number of mobility opportunities for students, academic and administrative staff. Building on the experience of the previous Erasmus+ programme phase and the high level of interest among faculties in mobility outside Europe, UL continues to strengthen its role as a regionally and internationally recognised centre of education and research.
