Erasmus+ projects significantly support the internationalisation of Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences (ViA) and contribute to the improvement and modernisation of HE both within the EU, Latvia and the region. By implementing this project, ViA aimed to achieve several objectives, the most important - foster the university’s internationalisation, provide international study and mobility opportunities for students and staff, and strengthen global partnerships. Through the programme, ViA enhanced participants’ academic and professional competences, promote cultural exchange, and align the university’s educational offer with European standards. The project was focused on supporting regional development, advancing digital transformation, and contributing to the promotion of the green transition in the academic environment. Within the project, ViA cooperated with partner institutions from 5 different regions (Western Balkans, Eastern Partnership, South Mediterranean, Asia, and Latin America) and 8 different countries (Albania, Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia, Moldova, Egypt, India, and Chile), ensuring various types of mobilities – incoming and outgoing staff teaching or training visits, as well as incoming student study mobilities.
