With this project we wanted to prepare new specialists and to try out various good practices in all partner countries, that could be compiled in one material available to anyone who wants work on the same issue we were working on, during this project. At the same time we wanted to prepare the local and national networks in partner countries, to be ready for the next project, that is currently already started - to open the first youth one stop agencies in the Baltics. Of course during this project we already wanted to help specific young people, support them in their career paths..
We applied for this project because for several years we have thought about the youth one stop agency model implementation in Baltic countries. With this project we wanted to try out various ways how this concept could be brought to life in Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Georgia. Main issue that we saw in the society (and it is still there) is a huge gap in the labour market - companies need employees for vacancies that no-one wants to do, so they are understaffed, but young people want to be in the professions that are not demanded. It creates this complicated situation that there kind of are many available vacancies, but at the same tame many young people are unemployed. With this project was continued some work we have done preciously to develop different approach to this problem, test it and implement in a wider scope.
