Objectives

By the end of the course, participants had understood how learning changes, reinforcements, stimuli, autonomy, and collaboration are part of game-based learning. In the administration, in communication with teachers, parents, and students, in the finalization of administrative work, in all areas of the school, digitalization was very important and much needed. Learning by doing was an important aspect in the implementation of new technologies and digitalization. They are now able to appreciate the pros and cons connected to different techniques. They are also confident in selecting the best game-based activities depending on their teaching goals and their students' needs. The staff is now more creative, and we gained more confidence as users of English Games and technology, as they were the perfect environments to facilitate exploration, having a strong impact on a student's ability to learn-by-doing and acquire knowledge and skills immediately.

Background

The school was in need of developing the general skills of the staff for digitization and usage of digital tools. The national strategy for education is also prioritizing the digitization of schools and the overall educational process. We believe that this project contributed to equipping our staff with practical ideas in order to enhance our students' motivation and create a friendly, effective, and attractive learning environment. Education should focus on fostering innovation by putting curiosity, critical thinking, deep understanding, and creative brainstorming. The system is evolving, but not quickly enough to get young people ready for the new world. That is why we needed new ways so that teachers could bypass the system and offer students the tools and experiences that spurred an innovative mindset.
