Last year's results have shown that more than 50% of teachers lack skills and need additional training for digital skills especially the basics of G-Suite in order to have a constant flow of information and neat administration. The outbreak of the Covid pandemic has been a wakeup call on the urgent need to integrate digital tools into teaching and training. Google Suite for Education offers to teachers and education staff a wide range of possibilities and tools to manage online and blended learning. Approaching online tools was not only an obligatory choice to deal with the pandemic, but seems nowadays an urgent need for all the schools willing to adapt to the 21st century work habits. It represents a wide and unprecedented challenge, that needs a proper guidance to be faced. Taking part in this training course on Google Suite for Education tailored for teachers and educational staff we will gain an outlook on the Google tools to empower and support online education as well as modernize in-class education. The staff will develop concrete ICT skills related to Google tools, discuss and exchange best practices in their past or current usage and become modern teachers, confident and comfortable ICT users.
Gorgi Sugarev is a state elementary school from Bitola, a city in the South-West of North Macedonia and an eTwinning school 2021-2022 for the second time in a row. The school has about 700 students and 80 teachers, staff, and special needs teachers. The main activity is the education of students pursuant to the law and curriculum provided by the Ministry of Education and the Biro for Development of Education. The school also provides education for special needs students at the registered Center for support for students with special educational needs, Diagnosed by the Deployment Commission at the Department for Mental Health. The teaching staff is always ready to embrace challenges and cope with new concepts exceptionally. Since we are a public school we offer programs provided by the BRO. The school strives to become a 21st-century school and has taken part in numerous projects and courses in order to achieve its goal. Also our students need an international modern educational program which we believe can be provided only by modern and up-to-date teachers. Our goal is to meet innovative technologies and adapt their usage in our everyday teaching. The Covid pandemic has been a wakeup call on the urgent need.
