As part of this project, International Balkan University (IBU) worked with universities from 11 countries: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Czechia, Estonia, Germany, Italy, Jordan, the Netherlands, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, and Turkiye, providing 41 participants from IBU with mobility opportunities abroad. The main objectives of implementing this project were to expand opportunities for students and staff to gain international experience, which is vital for their educational and professional growth. As a university, we strive to achieve our internationalization goals not only by welcoming international students but also by offering our own students and staff opportunities to study abroad. We aim to ensure that all academic and administrative staff can learn from the best practices of our partners, fostering growth that benefits both them as individuals and IBU. Additionally, the project aimed to enhance the university’s global presence and reputation through partnerships with various institutions. The more mobilities we have, the stronger our partnerships become, as our staff members network and share information about other partners who would like to collaborate with us. On an individual level, by exposing participants to diverse cultural environments and advanced educational settings, the project aimed to develop their skills and improve our students’ employability. Strengthening academic ties between the partnering universities was also a key goal, as this would pave the way for future collaborative projects, which ties in with the creation of the new Projects and Research Office at IBU and our ability to contribute to the success of other units and new faculties within IBU.
