Objectives

The project "Erase the Hate" was implemented in time period of 16 months, and the main mobility activities took place during April 2023 and August 2023 in Strumica, North Macedonia. The project aimed at addressing the profound societal damages caused by discrimination and racism. Recognizing the erosion of human dignity, life opportunities, and personal safety due to discrimination, the project focused on multiple facets. At the exchange the participants through various methods had the opportunity to tackle and learn more about the topics of the project, through which the following goals were achieved: 1. Promotion of Anti-Discrimination Practices. Emphasizing the importance of combating discrimination, hate speech, and hate crimes through various NFE methods, activism and artivisam methods. 2. Awareness and Inclusiveness. Raised awareness among young people regarding inclusiveness and equality across various domains, including race, minorities, religion, LGBTQ+, gender, age, and disability. 3. Ensuring Participation and Promoting EU Values with guaranteed space and participation for all, aligning with and promoting the core values of the European Union, promoting EU programmes, values and opportunities. 4. Human Rights Education. Through the activities and the methods of NFE there were introduced participants to Human Rights Education, enhancing their understanding and appreciation of these fundamental rights. 5. Sharing Effective Practices. The participants through peer learning shared good practices from their communities and effective methods for combating discrimination, hate speech, and hate crimes. 6. Strengthening Capacities Through "ARTIVISAM". Enhanced the capacities of the participants to use “ARTIVISAM” as a tool for community actions against discrimination and hate. The youth exchange "Erase the Hate" significantly increased the competencies of young people, as the participants gained experience and skills in recognizing prejudice, stereotypes, discrimination, and hate speech/crimes. The program's activities and methods prepared , used and shared with the young participants not only in anti-discrimination work but also in acquiring key life learning competencies supported by the program. For those with fewer opportunities and from marginalized groups, the project improved social inclusion and access to opportunities, reducing social tensions and intolerance.
