Objectives

Embarking on the "I'm a Leader Too!" project, Youth Board Shtip sought to achieve several key objectives crucial for the development of both our organization and our target group—youth with fewer opportunities. These objectives were closely aligned with the inclusive goals of the Erasmus+ program, promoting the program's values while addressing the unique challenges faced by this demographic. Our mission was rooted in a commitment to inclusivity, recognizing that inclusive initiatives yield more representative and effective solutions for societal challenges, particularly by addressing the issues of low self-confidence and lack of enthusiasm among these young people. The primary objective of the project was to break down barriers and create a structured pathway for young people with fewer opportunities to actively participate in a range of activities at both local and international levels. By leveraging our direct engagement strategies and informal activities, we aimed to ensure that these young people had access to non-formal education opportunities. We understood that their involvement would not only enrich the outcomes of our initiatives but also enhance the impact of the Erasmus+ program as a whole. This led to our objective of motivating these participants and providing them with the space to engage in non-formal education activities. Another central objective of "I'm a Leader Too!" was to empower young people with fewer opportunities by positioning them as creators of activities. The project sought to upgrade their capacities, instill self-confidence, and foster self-motivation for future engagement in youth activities. Through the facilitated mobilities, participants were given unique opportunities to develop essential skills such as planning, creating, and realizing projects. These experiences exposed them to the broader opportunities available through the Erasmus+ program and emphasized the importance of soft skill development as a means to advance societal progress. In line with these objectives, the project also aimed to cultivate a sense of community and interconnectedness among participants. We wanted to encourage peer-to-peer learning, recognizing it as a vital component for the future development of current generations. This objective included giving participants the chance to meet peers across various European countries, forming bonds, and creating a network of youth leaders throughout Europe. This network was envisioned as a stepping stone for their future growth and development. Additionally, the project aimed to broaden participants' perspectives by enabling them to explore and analyze European cities and engage with other youth facing similar challenges. This not only fostered networking at both national and international levels but also promoted positive examples of work and inclusion across Europe. A significant aspect of this objective was to enhance participants' understanding of European values, which they absorbed through their cultural exchanges and experiences in different countries. Building on the belief that a society's success depends on the full involvement of its youth, the project also aimed to ease access for young people with fewer opportunities to European programs. By showcasing successful practices and promoting positive examples, we aimed to inspire these young individuals to actively participate in shaping youth policies, contributing to a balanced approach to social inclusion. Introducing them to the Erasmus+ program and the world of non-formal education was a crucial objective, with the goal of igniting their desire to engage further in the program while developing their soft skills, cultural awareness, and self-confidence. Ultimately, the project aspired to empower participants to become active citizens and leaders who could confidently contribute to the creation and implementation of youth policies. We sought to create an internal motivation among participants to continue their engagement with the Erasmus+ program and to promote its European core values. By achieving these objectives, we aimed to involve young people with fewer opportunities in youth work actively and empower them to become ambassadors of this idea, inspiring others with similar challenges to get involved. The project successfully laid the foundation for these young individuals to grow their skills and confidence, and their future trajectory indicates further integration into the Erasmus+ program and continued contribution to youth work.
