The goal of our project was to improve the adult education staff's skills in reaching and inclusion of marginalized women and women victims of GBVH in adult education processes, or more specifically: - to identify clear set of skills, methods and approaches; - to teach 15 adult education staff in identifying the learning needs; - to include marginalized women and women victims of GBVH in the practical learning process of adult education staff; - to strengthen the position of the organizations as forward-looking providers in adult education.
Adult education faces challenges in reaching out to marginalized women and victims of gender-based violence (GBVH). Traditional practices, lack of self-confidence, and low literacy skills contribute to low inclusion. This is reflected in low participation and lack of understanding of the importance of adult education for these women. To address this, a specific approach is needed to attract marginalized women to adult education and learning, while also ensuring staff remain involved as learners. Research shows that adult education often consists of a linear, progressive transfer of knowledge and ideology, which may not be internalized by marginalized women. To address this issue, the project partners incorporated experiences from other projects and decided to create a tool to identify learning needs for marginalized women. This approach strengthens adult education centers' position and promotes forward-looking integration of the target group in learning processes.
