Objectives

Music is one of the best tools to break down any kind of barrier, and, especially between youngsters, it is a very important key in the process of inclusion and integration in Europe and the world. The recent migration flows that our continent is facing, are causing a big sense of racism and xenophobia, which lead to political extremist entities that, not only undermine inclusion process but also European Union security. Therefore, we thought that music, as a universal language, could fight these stereotypes and prejudicial feelings, which came from a lack of knowledge and communication (both for linguistic and cultural reasons). The main aim of this Youth Exchange was to gather together youngsters from different countries to talk about social exclusion, migration, and music as a tool for Social Inclusion, through Non-formal education. The main goal of this project was to increase social inclusion processes through music. Youth Exchange’s objectives: To develop the topic of Social Inclusion and share, between the participants, best practices in this area at a European level; To inform participants on the current migration flows in Europe; To create songs on the Social Inclusion theme; To use music as a tool to promote social inclusion; To promote Erasmus Plus opportunities as an instrument for social inclusion and a growth opportunity for youngsters. We believe that this project respected entirely Erasmus Plus objectives, especially those regarding Youth standards, as it was about Social Inclusion and fostered the interest in participants towards mobility, personal growth, comparison between different cultures, and European sense of belonging.
