Objectives

The main objective of implementing the Flipped Classroom project was to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes. We wanted to create a more interactive and student-centered learning environment that would help our students develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills. Additionally, we aimed to improve our students' motivation to learn and increase their interest in academic subjects. Through the implementation of the project, we also aimed to improve our teaching practices and gain new knowledge and skills related to innovative teaching methods. We wanted to incorporate the flipped classroom approach into our regular teaching practice and make it an integral part of our curriculum. Ultimately, our goal was to create a more effective and engaging learning experience for our students and enhance their overall academic performance. We wanted to promote the use of technology in education and encourage our students to develop digital literacy skills. The project allowed us to integrate technology into our teaching methods and explore new ways of using digital tools to enhance student learning. Through the Erasmus+ program, we had the opportunity to connect with other educators and exchange ideas.

Background

Our school participated in an Erasmus+ Teacher project on Flipped Classroom. The project was necessary because we wanted to improve student engagement and learning outcomes, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic when we shifted to remote or blended learning models. We identified a need to provide more interactive and engaging learning experiences for our students, particularly those between the ages of 12 -15. The Flipped Classroom approach that we learned in the project was an effective solution to our challenges. By flipping the traditional classroom model, where students listened to lectures in class and completed homework at home, to one where students engaged with course material through pre-recorded lectures and online activities before coming to class, our students were better prepared and more engaged in discussions and collaborative learning activities. The approach was particularly effective for our students between the ages of 12 -15, who were able to learn at their own pace and engage in more interactive learning experiences. By investing in this project, our school took an important step towards improving student learning outcomes and ensuring that our students were equipped with the knowledge and skills they need.
