Objectives

With this project, we want to expand the number of students and staff for mobility within our organizations. As an incentive to do this, we use the support of Erasmus+ and want to achieve the following: - Students and staff getting more internationally competent (intercultural awareness). - Increasing the language skills of both students and staff. - Give students more opportunities on the international job market. - Giving students more and better opportunities to succeed in higher vocational education. - Providing more valuable employees for regional and national companies. - Improving the quality of our own education and school organizations. - Stimulate cooperation between comparable schools in the EU.

Background

The Grafisch Lyceum Utrecht is a small, specialized vocational school for the creative industry with over 100 years of history. Our programs focus on design, production, and targeted communication and marketing. We partner internationally with small-scale design companies involved in website design, games, animation, and graphic design, as well as with communication and branding agencies. Since 2006, we've promoted student mobility, resulting in a steady increase in participation. Over 16 years, we've built a dynamic network of international internship companies. However, the small scale of the creative sector means that only one student can often secure an internship at a time, making it challenging to find placements and keep our database updated. The COVID-19 pandemic has also impacted our network. This project encourages students and staff to gain international experience, enhancing their creative skills and knowledge. This benefits both their personal development and our organization. We work with European internship companies and educational institutions, offering opportunities for internships, design projects, job shadowing, and exchanges abroad.
