Objectives

HKU’s profile states that it wants to contribute to social challenges through art and creativity. HKU holds the view that individual experience in another cultural, linguistic and educational setting is a very powerful and useful element to grow, both individually and professionally. International competencies contribute to the innovation and knowledge needs of our professional contexts and to solutions to social issues. Indeed, art and creativity are a motor for reflection and innovation. It provides a language that everyone understands which has a binding effect. The Erasmus+ Programme is an important engine of the Europe strategy to overcome the socio-economic crisis affecting European countries. The Programme allows HKU to contribute to European challenges such as stimulating growth and employment and promoting equal opportunities and equal access, inclusion, diversity and equality. In addition, the Programme supports addressing sustainability challenges. Our goals and ambitions are in line with Erasmus+ and are formulated in the institutional plan 2019-2024 (https://www.hku.nl/en/about-hku/policy-and-quality/academic-plan-2019-2024), as also reflected in our European Policy statement www.hku.nl/erasmusplus.
