Objectives

Internationalisation plays a vital role in improving the quality of education and research at Zuyd University of Applied Sciences. Zuyd is committed to this strategy, actively participating in international cooperation, knowledge exchange, and benchmarking. These efforts not only enhance the institution’s academic standing but also prioritise the development of global and intercultural competencies among both students and staff. Central to Zuyd’s internationalisation mission is the implementation of the KA131 project, which facilitates Erasmus+ opportunities for incoming and outgoing students and staff. By enabling these exchanges, Zuyd can help shape the future of various professions and contributing to the sustainable development of the region. This aligns with Zuyd's broader goal of fostering the growth of international and intercultural skills within its academic community, alongside attracting and retaining talented foreign students. The central location of Zuyd in the heart of Europe, within the Euregion Meuse-Rhine, further strengthens its ability to build European and global connections that benefit not only students and staff but also external stakeholders. Graduates of Zuyd are well-prepared to navigate a globalised world, gaining exposure to diverse languages, cultures, and professional environments through study abroad programs, internships, and international collaborations. This prepares them to operate beyond national borders, enhancing both their personal and professional growth. By leveraging its international connections and central location, Zuyd University bridges the Dutch Province of Limburg, the Euregion, and the broader global community, fostering a more integrated and internationally-minded future. Through these initiatives, Zuyd continues to make a meaningful contribution to the sustainable development of the region and to the professions its graduates will transition into.
