Objectives

The mission of Wageningen University & Research (WUR) is ‘to explore the potential of nature to improve the quality of life’. To accomplish this mission WUR aspires to be a globally leading university in the fields of agriculture, healthy food and the living environment. To be globally leading there is a strong focus on internationalisation, and this is what WUR aims to strengthen by implementing this project. An important component is student exchange for which we have partnerships both within and outside of Europe. The Erasmus+ project minimises financial barriers and can convince students who otherwise would not opt for a study abroad experience or an internship abroad. Additionally, as a host institution, WUR sees that receiving students from partner universities contributes to the international classroom, giving a diversified multinational and multicultural view on topics within our domain. WUR strives to strengthen staff exchange which improves cooperation and development at different levels. The Erasmus+ project helps participants in their professional and personal development by being exposed to new (teaching) methods, technologies or administrative practices and bringing them back to their home institution.
