Our objectives were ambitious yet focused, aiming to: Strengthen the educational offer in outdoor and environmental education across the EU. Equip trainers and staff with practical tools for testing the "Into the Wild" concept in their local settings. Facilitate easier learning of green and digital skills alongside life skills for young adults. Foster the development of environmentally conscious communities. Promote the role of young adults as change agents both locally and at the European level.
The motivation to apply for the ITW project stemmed from a clear recognition of specific needs within our communities and organizations. Identifying a significant gap in outdoor and environmental education tailored for adult learning, we aimed to address the pressing issue of climate change awareness. This need was coupled with an understanding of the potential that innovative educational methodologies hold in enhancing green skills, digital literacy, and fostering community resilience against environmental challenges.
