Objectives

The main objective of 'Innovation through cooperation' is to bring together educators, lecturers and teachers, scientists from different European countries who will work together in developing and authoring the learning materials on a European/international level. More collaboration in the development process can be achieved by extending the existing EKFI platform (Create module), which supports authors in collaborative development of learning materials. The extended platform now includes tools to enhance and support collaboration so that teachers/authors can work together to develop the learning material. By organising this development process, learning materials can be developed in groups, leading to improved efficiency (saving time and money) and increased quality and innovation of the learning materials by using the different competences of the participants.

Background

During the first EKFI project, we noticed that many teachers created their own materials for their lessons, sometimes because they were unsure about the subject. This was supported by research. The lack of tools to support the writing of learning materials often leads to the development of the same materials, which in many cases are not written according to specific quality guidelines and do not take into account the competences of other teachers. This is why we were motivated to submit EKFI PLUS with the aim of developing a educational model and ICT tools that we will integrate into the existing platform to facilitate the development of new learning materials or the adaptation of existing ones. Learning materials created in a structured way in collaboration with other teachers using the improved platform will be developed more cheaply, effectively and with higher quality. The search for like-minded partners and the definition of development needs will be supported. The tools will facilitate the development process and support teamwork at different levels, leading to better materials, cost savings and sharing of knowledge and learning materials. In this way we have been able to meet the demands of teachers and other stakeholders.
