Through the project, we aimed to strengthen the triple qualification of VET professional skills, personal development, and citizenship. Our goal was to ensure that students not only gain vocational expertise but also grow into active, self-aware, and socially responsible citizens prepared for a rapidly changing and complex world. We wanted to re-position citizenship education as a fundamental pillar of VET, rather than an optional or secondary element. By introducing a clear framework that connects citizenship themes to personal, professional, societal, and global roles aligned with the SDGs we made civic education both visible and meaningful. We also sought to modernize learning by developing immersive V-Learning modules that stimulate motivation, critical thinking, empathy, and reflection. Our objective was to give teachers the tools and confidence to deliver engaging content, even on sensitive topics like inclusion and discrimination. The creation of a digital platform ensured open, long-term access to all project results and enabled hybrid and self-regulated learning. Ultimately, we aimed to empower both educators &students to co-create inclusive, future-proof education and to foster the emergence of T-shaped professionals.
The project was launched to address the decreasing focus on citizenship education within VET, despite its essential role in shaping well-rounded, T-shaped professionals. Teachers reported a lack of time, tools, and confidence to tackle complex topics like inclusion, discrimination, and sustainability. Meanwhile, COVID-19 accelerated the need for flexible, engaging digital learning. To meet these needs, we developed a practical framework connecting citizenship themes to personal, societal, and global roles, aligned with the SDGs. We created and shared over 50 relevant, ready-to-use teaching materials in the toolkit, linked to the framework and launched 7 immersive VR modules to enhance learning engagement. A learning platform was developed to host all materials &support hybrid learning. We extra developed 17 lesson cards for each SDG, a workbook and extra activities. Teachers received training to confidently implement these innovations, resulting in increased capacity for inclusive and future-oriented education. The project has empowered students and educators, fostered civic engagement, and strengthened digital and global competencies across all partner institutions realizing the full potential of the triple qualification in VET.
