The primary intention behind implementing the project was to provide a distinct interdisciplinary approach towards bridging the gap between environmental awareness and digital literacy. The objectives of the “multimedia YOUth for the environment” Youth Exchange were: 1/ to increase awareness of climate change and global warming; 2/ to identify eco-tips implementable in daily life; 3/ to research more sustainable ways of living; 4/ to teach the participants how to reduce, reuse and recycle; 5/ to organize local workshops that raise awareness about environmental change; 6/ to introduce the participants to non-formal education tools; 7/ to promote Youth Pass, Erasmus+ and other EU opportunities, as well as 8/ to promote intercultural dialogue of participants from EU and EaP countries. The project allowed participants to engage in meaningful discussions about pressing environmental issues through various social media platforms. The significance of this project was multifaceted, as it not only addressed environmental concerns but also equipped the participants with essential digital skills. In today's professional landscape, digital competencies such as conducting internet research, effective online communication through email or instant messaging, proficiency in utilizing professional online platforms, and familiarity with digital financial services have become pivotal for success. During a comprehensive 10-day Youth Exchange program, participants underwent a transformative learning experience that empowered them with practical life skills. They gained a deeper understanding of environmental intricacies, learned sustainable living practices, recognized the imminent threats posed by climate change and global warming, and honed their digital skills. Furthermore, the experience fostered teamwork, instilled a sense of openness towards diverse cultures, broadened their global perspective, and imbued them with the spirit to become change agents in their local community.
