The GOAL project was developed to provide information about good nutrition, physical activity, and stress management of 31 young people from Curacao, Georgia and Portugal. With this aim in mind, the project and implemented activities encouraged participating youth to discuss health-related information and set achievable behavioral goals to improve their health conditions. This was achieved by fulfilling the project objectives, which includes creating awareness of the connection between healthy lifestyle habits and health outcomes, raising awareness of the damages that “addictions” and “drug-free addictions” can cause, increasing self-efficacy for behavior change by setting achievable goals and promoting healthy leisure and physical activity as a stimulus, alternative to an excessive and compulsive use of technologies and other unhealthy lifestyle behaviors. In a long run, we believe that the health education and promotion of grassroot sport that GOAL project contributed to can improve youth’s well-being and reduce their cardiovascular risk. To this end, the project engaged participating youth in activities that promote healthy habits and helped them attain personal goals that are consistent with recommended healthy lifestyle guidelines. Also, following their first successful mobility experience, the participating youth learnt about the Erasmus+ Programme and options like ESC, Training Courses, and Youth Exchanges, which prompted them to explore for additional chances within the Erasmus+ or other programmes.
