Objectives

The prevention of risky behaviors is an important need in our work with young people, and it is relevant to approach it and know how to help young people and prevent them. Because of these massive changes in every field of our lives, young people experience difficulties adapting to these changes. We decided to carry out the COVID Erasmus+ youth project with our partner organizations to support young people against the mental challenges of the pandemic. The goal of that project was not just to reach out to a group of participants and help them. It was to create a common youth work where a solution was sought for the question of what we could do against the negative effects of Covid-19, a platform that affected large masses, together with an exchange of ideas. In conclusion, our project aimed to help young people cope with the negative effects of Covid-19 as well as to be a part of the process of generating solutions to these negative effects. To do this, we set our objectives to develop the knowledge and skills of 25 participants and 5 leaders in the field of stress management, well-being, and mindfulness to avoid depression by using nonformal education methods. With this youth project, we wanted to empower young people with mindfulness techniques to prevent social problems. Our specific objectives were: • Developing the knowledge, skills, and competencies of 30 young people to cope with social challenges that came alongside the pandemic. • Raising social awareness against the negative effects of Covid-19 on young people. • to equip young people to adopt the new normal through mindfulness and meditation techniques to combat stress and anxiety towards the "new normal". • to encourage young people to make positive changes in their local communities through well-being techniques. • exchange realities regarding the topics of the project in the participating countries. • presentation and cooperation of the Erasmus + program. Our project was compatible with the goals of EU Youth Strategy 21-27: Mental Health and Well-being, promoting mental and health, sport, physical activity, and healthy lifestyles. Preventing and treating injury, eating disorders, addictions, and substance abuse.
