Prevention of conflicts, post-conflict rehabilitationReception and integration of refugees and migrants

Objectives

The project aimed to address the challenges faced by young migrants and refugees, given the significant number of individuals migrating to the EU and the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East. The project recognized the isolation and lack of access to education experienced by many refugees, particularly Syrian children who were unable to attend school. In light of these issues, the project sought to improve the situation by training youth workers in non-formal methods and pedagogical approaches to better support young refugees on a daily basis. Recognizing the potential for positive cultural experiences to promote diversity acceptance, the project also aimed to enhance the cultural sensitivity of youth workers. By providing training on cultural topics, the project aimed to create learning spaces that would reduce prejudices, stereotypes, and frustrations among young refugees and their host societies. In collaboration with 11 international partners, the project "Come Dream with Me" was designed to empower and equip youth workers with the necessary competencies, innovative non-formal learning methods, and pedagogical approaches. The objectives of the project included raising awareness among youth workers about the challenges faced by young migrants and refugees, enhancing the capacities of participating organizations, fostering cooperation among youth workers, and preparing new projects to address the issues faced by migrants and refugees. Furthermore, the project aimed to increase the involvement of young migrants and refugees in social life, promote tolerance and acceptance in local communities, and enhance knowledge about Erasmus+ and other European opportunities for learning and cooperation. The overall goal was to develop a network of competent and empowered youth workers who could effectively support and provide opportunities for young migrants and refugees in their respective areas.
