The Learning for Well-being foundation (L4WB-F) aims to create a more inclusive and holistic society through offering training, organizing events and facilitating projects with the aim of gaining a better understanding of each individual and as a whole, in connection to nature and with others. And to gain skills and competences for active and inclusive participation. Through ACT2gether (A2G), L4WB-F creates a global social movement that promotes partnerships between competent adults and young people (aged 8-26), in order to promote children’s right to active participation in society. A2G Netherlands wants to support adults and young people in making decisions together as competent and equal partners in all sectors on issues that affect the lives of all. In a holistic and inclusive way. The objective of A2G NL is to expand youth participation in all sectors by supporting organizations, institutions and projects who want to implement youth participation. Another objective is to organize moments and events where adults and young people can learn with and from each other about equal partnership and practice inclusive participation. Providing trainings to teach knowledge, skills and experiences in active and inclusive participation. Another objective is to recruit, train and coach an A2G NL Youth Team (YT), consisting of 4-6 members and involve them in decision-making processes while designing the content of A2G activities in the Netherlands. By training these and other young people and learning them how to design, facilitate and evaluate workshops/trainings on youth participation these young people become ambassadors for youth participation in the NL and do know how to facilitate a workshop themselves. These workshops can take place at NGOs, (governmental) institutions and (youth) clubs who want to involve young people in their organization or projects. By organizing a 2getherLAND (2GL) NL 2023, A2G NL also wants also to promote collaboration between various organizations and sectors in the NL: creating a place for intersectoral exchange of experiences and therefore expansion of projects in which youth is actively participating. With the first training weekend (from March 25-26th, 2023) we wanted to lay the groundwork for young people to know themselves better, get an understanding about the holistic approach with the four perspectives (mental, emotional, physical, spiritual), child rights and the right for children to participate. We also wanted them to develop/expand skills on facilitating a small and a large group in a holistic way. The second training weekend (from May 12-14th, 2023) was a short introduction to the holistic approach, personal development child rights and youth participation on Friday afternoon (for those who hadn’t participated in the first training weekend), and then the focus was more on practicing how to design, facilitate and evaluate a learning process such as a workshop in a holistic way for different age groups. For both groups of young people who joined the trainings the L4WB-F will organize an online gathering for questions, feed back and follow-up on their learnings and practices in June 2023. A2G NL intends to empower young people with (self) knowledge and skills in a holistic way and therefore enlarge the number of organisations/institutions where young people’s voices are being heard so that adults and young people work together as equal partners in solving social and environmental issues in their communities.
