USN has an internationally renowned Department of Optometry, Radiography and Lighting Design and three of the elected projects were academically coordinated by that department. The sub-projects in mind were established with similar departments in Kenya, Israel and Moldova. Based on previous project collaboration, the intention of the projects was to promote and co-develop new designs for optometry education and promote reciprocal staff mobility and inbound student mobility to USN. Funding was also granted for collaboration with an Indonesian university -UII - (IT- Management Information Systems) to enhance internationalization and collaboration between students and staff at the two institutions. Further, funding with the University of Peradeniya (Sri Lanka) emphasized the continuation of collaboration on human rights and diversity. USN and the University of Massachusetts (United States) focused on diversity, language and and citizenship within the teacher education and was funded as staff exchange only. In essence, all projects aimed at strengthening end developing education ties between USN and its partner institutions within the KA171 framework.
