Our project had two goals: 1. Strengthen young people's democratic self-confidence and knowledge, and learn from European youth by attending Ungdommens Folkemøde 7-8 September 2022. By participating, we wanted to learn more about how Ungdomsbuerået works with the planning and implementation of its democracy festival, and through this get inspiration and input on how we could best establish our meeting place for youth and expression in Lillehammer. 2. Establish a meeting place for youth and freedom of expression in Lillehammer as an extension of the annual World Expression Forum, where young people from both Denmark and Norway are actively involved in both planning and implementation.
The World Expression Forum's (Wexfos) goal is to strengthen freedom of expression by being the central meeting place for all with an interest in this work, both nationally and internationally. Through the project Young people's participation in society, and the cooperation with Lillehammer municipality and Ungdomsbureauet, we wanted to establish such a meeting place for youth, and through this support young people to actively promote citizenship, understanding democracy and focusing on challenges and solutions related to freedom of speech.
