Background

The Wawer Cultural Center is a local government cultural institution established in 2014, whose main activities are based on the creation and dissemination of culture and the development of social and cultural activities of the inhabitants of the Wawer district. In our activities for adults, we focus on cultural education, developing interests, cultivating artistic passions and community activities. More information about the organization can be found on WWW.wck-wawer.pl. The Wawer Metropolis project was our second EU project and another step towards greater openness to international cooperation and greater innovation in our activities. We want to be an institution that sees the potential in diversity and multiculturalism, actively connects generations and ethnic groups, and is open to the interpenetration of cultures and common dialogue. Hence the Wawer Metropolis project, which focuses on the integration of various environments and targeted linguistic and cultural education of our staff so that they can establish contacts with foreign institutions and create new, innovative projects in cooperation with them for the residents of Wawer. The project was intended to increase the accessibility of our institution to the foreigners.
