As indicated in the application, the implementation of the project was expected to have a significant impact on the applicant's current activities. The staff of sports coaches working with senior citizens through participation in a 6-day work observation learned new methods of working with digital tools. The transnational partner transferred its knowledge and experience in the area of digital tools in the field of sport, so that the trainers from Magdalena Majewska ‘Aquama’will be able to work more effectively with vulnerable groups even without personal contact(at a distance). The methods learned will be directly used in the development of online materials-programmes for seniors‘Chair Yoga’,‘Active Senior Academy’,‘Senior Health Prevention’(sustainability of project results). The implementation of the project also made it possible to improve the digital competences of the applicant's permanent audience-24 seniors, thanks to which they will be prepared to receive new educational programmes implemented by Magdalena Majewska ‘Aquama’.The 9-day mobility of the listeners was also an opportunity to raise competences in the area of pro-health education and prevention of civilisation diseases (complementarity with the applicant's activities.
The applicant sought funding for the project because it wanted to digitise the educational offer dedicated to seniors that it had been providing until now - it was planned to implement digital tools into its existing activities in the area of shaping healthy habits, lifelong fitness maintenance, rehabilitation and sports exercises at home (a response to the post-pandemic needs of its permanent beneficiaries). The implementation of the project was to contribute to the ‘two-way’ acquisition of digital competences - both by the organisation's staff (6 sports coaches) in terms of preparing training videos and podcasts, and by the seniors covered by the project support (24 regular beneficiaries of the applicant's activities aged 60+) in terms of their ability to monitor the progress of exercises using digital tools, to receive the prepared offer, to exercise using publicly available applications. Raising digital competences among older people is particularly important in the post-pandemic period, and the combination of physical activity and distance learning methods will contribute to increasing the fitness levels of seniors reduced after two years of social isolation.
