“Inclusive Education. Good practices for cultural animators and educators” became an opportunity for us to make a multidimensional development of the institution. We wanted to achieve 3 main goals: 1. increase our competences in building relationships with groups at risk of exclusion. 2. broaden the cultural offer of the institution with social activities promoting diversity. 3. build a network of international cooperation. We believe that culture is a tool for solving social problems, and our role is to use this tool to promote action against discrimination, to respond to the injustice around us and to promote the well-being of those with whom we interact. We recognise that it is essential that we learn from the knowledge and experience of organisations focused on sensitive and inclusive initiatives. We want to create a place where interesting events are experienced, but also where more difficult social, artistic and educational challenges are addressed and critical thinking skills are developed. The overarching idea behind the project was to seek inspiration in order to translate these beliefs and desires into relevant practices.
“Inclusive Education. Good practices for cultural animators and educators” is an international staff mobility project implemented to increase the competence of employees at ZAMEK Cultural Centre in Poznań. ZAMEK Culture Centre is the largest cultural institution in the Greater Poland region and its headquarters is the former Imperial Castle. The primary aim of its activities is to provide access to culture for all those who wish to participate in the socio-cultural life of the city, regardless of their interests, background, level of mobility or economic situation. We pursue this goal through interdisciplinary programme activities in the areas of film, literature, visual arts, music, theatre and cultural education. An important, everyday aspiration of ZAMEK team is to expand its core activities to embrace social programmes focused on building long-term relationships, including groups at risk of exclusion and supporting diversity. The project included 4 training courses and 4 job shadowings. Their implementation was possible thanks to cooperation with partner organisations from Italy, Denmark, Germany and Belgium.
