The main goal of the project was to enable teachers to develop soft skills such as personal competences (coping with stress, stress management, emotional intelligence, mindfulness.) Soft skills were developed during training conducted by the host organization, i.e. Europass Teacher Academy, during training on recognizing the symptoms of stress, stress management, strengthening mental resilience, and mindfulness techniques. Since burnout is often the result of work that becomes a form of routine, devoid of creative accents, one of the goals of the project was also to develop creativity and innovation. The next goals were skill development using English, developing dissemination skills and stimulating European identity.
The project was accompanied by a school development plan, containing many activities aimed at improving the quality of work schools and development of international cooperation. All included activities required the involvement of competent people teachers who want to go beyond the routine teaching process. Pandemic, lack of professional recognition, relatively speaking low salaries, distance learning, and insufficient interpersonal relations with the environment caused the number to increase employees showing a loss of motivation to act or lack of satisfaction with their work, which are signs burnout syndrome. All this resulted in more stressful working conditions and a loss of self-confidence opportunities or the need to cope with pressure. Therefore, there was a need to strengthen soft skills employees such as the ability to manage stress or strengthen mental resilience, which could be an element support for teachers at risk of burnout.
