Objectives

We wanted to achieve the following by implementing the project: 1) Gain specific knowledge on using formative assessment to build internal motivation for self-directed learning and personal development among students. 2) Ensure teachers use at least three essential IT tools beneficial for both classroom and remote teaching.

Background

Społeczna Szkoła Podstawowa nr 1 “Nasza Szkoła” educates Ss from grades 1-8 and runs a preschool academy for 6-year-olds. Ss come from diverse backgrounds and commute from nearby towns and villages. The curriculum includes enhanced foreign languages and physical education. The school participates in international collaborations through eTwinning and Erasmus+ projects, organises language and sports trips, and engages in local ecological and cultural projects. The project's main goal was to develop Ts' professional skills, particularly in formative assessment and IT, to improve student progress. Remote learning revealed that Ss often study for grades rather than knowledge. Formative assessment creates a stimulating learning environment and improves classroom dynamics. We believe it will enhance exam results and motivate Ss to develop their skills further. The 2020 pandemic highlighted gaps in our school's IT proficiency, necessitating further digital competency development. Improving Ts' IT skills will enhance Ss' capabilities. Remote learning showed Ss' IT knowledge is often limited to social media, lacking educational IT skills. Providing user-friendly tools will improve learning and expand their IT knowledge for future use.
