Objectives

The main goals we aimed to achieve were to improve the language skills of school staff, enhance their linguistic abilities, and acquire new international partners. This, in turn, is expected to lead to an intensification of activities in international projects. As a result, we will have teachers who, knowing foreign languages, cultures, and customs of various countries, will be guides for their students. Moreover, teachers will emphasize developing a European sense among students, while simultaneously increasing their sensitivity and tolerance towards socio-cultural diversity. Another goal was to improve teaching competencies using innovative didactic methods and elements of CLIL. All of this will make students more interested in acquiring knowledge in a given subject. This will impact the effectiveness of the teaching process and its outcomes. By working this way, we will develop communication skills, creativity, and teach our students teamwork. Through such actions, our students will gain confidence that learning foreign languages is worthwhile, not just for passing exams and getting good grades, but for functioning effectively in today's world.

Background

Primary School of John Paul II in Psary is a public institution that provides educational and care services. Due to its rural location, we also offer access to various extracurricular activities. As part of managing children's free time, we conduct sports activities and organize summer and winter day camps. The school operates based on general education programs. Additionally, for the past 5 years, we have been introducing pedagogical innovations. Our school has 220 students aged 7-15. Most of them are talented, ambitious, and eager to expand their knowledge and worldview about the countries of the European Union. This project is a continuation of previous initiatives and also takes further steps towards the positive development of our institution in a European dimension. We aimed to improve the language skills of our teachers to actively engage the entire school community in a wide range of international initiatives. The project's goals focused on using elements of the English language during subject lessons (CLIL method), introducing innovations in line with European trends and the needs of the school, increasing international cooperation, as well as building tolerance and openness.
