Objectives

The main goal of the project is to improve the knowledge of English of the 15 project participants (up to B1 / B2 level) through their participation in language and specialist courses (using ICT), training, 14 job shadowing and one teaching assignment. The participants of the project will be teachers of foreign languages, Polish, history, geography, biology, mathematics and computer science. Using English at a communicative level, they will enrich the content of the subjects they teach, as well as conduct subject and interdisciplinary mini-projects in an international group online on topics related to ecology and civic attitudes. They will introduce new competitions and other activities to school life, following the example of those observed in foreign schools.

Background

The XLIII High School in Krakow is a public high school, established in 2017, educating 350 students aged 15-19. Currently, the school is implementing its first Erasmus + KA229 project (as a partner), which has become an important event in the life of the school community and revealed a great need for such initiatives. Interest in learning foreign languages, learning about other cultures and direct contacts has increased. However, the school did not participate in the project aimed at teachers and did not use the forms of staff education offered by the Erasmus + program. Hence, responding to the needs of teachers and taking into account the expectations of students, the school has decided to join this project. The possibilities offered by this initiative made the school decide to apply for funding for this project.
