Realising the project, our school intended to reach the following goals: 1. Enhancement of the quality of bilingual teaching and communication in foreign languages with foreign students in our school by increasing the knowledge and skills of the stuff in the area of communication in foreign languages. 2. Enhancement of the level of teaching with the use of ICT. The teachers will develop their knowledge and skill in the area of practical usage of ICT in the classroom. 3. Enhancement of the level of teaching in the area of innovative methodology application. 4. Enhancement of the Europeanisation of our school by increasing the number and quality of activities realised on the European level.
I LO Dwujęzyczne im. E. Dembowskiego in Gliwice is an institution which prides itself on high educational standards, being the second one in the town, the sixteenth in Silesia, the 140 in the country and the twenty-seventh in the subjects Olympiad ranking. Students coming to our school have excellent potential and thus extremely high expectations. Our students often find it difficult to deal with stress, competitions among peers and failure. Our school educates a number of foreigners or students who come back to live in Poland after many years of living abroad. This group of students needs special support. Our school has a bilingual curriculum as well as International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme and Diploma Programme. Our School has excellent ICT facilities. All of the aforementioned factors obligate the teaching staff to constant and regular development within the areas of foreign languages, ICT as well as innovative teaching methods to enhance the level of education.
