The project is meant to achieve three goals. The first of them is to improve the teachers’ abilities to use the English language. Right now many of our students are immigrants, refugees and people returning from abroad. We also want to increase the number of teachers who take part in European projects at our school. The second aim is to equip the teachers with a wide range of modern methods of teaching. This is meant to improve the quality of teaching, make the learning process more effective and improve the results. The teachers who have the ability to use the methods based on neurodidactics and the latest scientific achievements will be able to use the creativity, capability and innovativity of the students of the generation Z. The third of the goals is to increase the resilience to stress in both the teachers and the students, to make the students more motivated to learn and the teachers to teach, and finally to prevent job burnout. We wanted to equip the workers, but especially form tutors, in relaxation and mindfulness techniques and the ability to reduce stress.
The project ‘Idąc naprzeciw potrzebom pokolenia Z’ is a continuation of the previous project ‘Wobec wyzwań współczesnej edukacji’. The aim is to keep implementing modern methodology of teaching and improving the language abilities of teachers and students. The main goals are: taking care of the well-being of teachers and students; managing stress and lowering the level of it; and implementing the relaxation and mindfulness techniques in the school environment. Through the project, we want to respond to the most burning issues of the generation Z, which is represented by the students of our school. Those problems that they now face are due to the effects of the pandemic, the current political situation in Europe and in the world and the unstable future prospects. Our organization is a secondary school in Warsaw. The students of our school (aged 14 to 19) finish their obligatory education by taking a final exam called ‘Matura’, but the majority of them continues their education in colleges in Poland or abroad. The students have a wide variety of interests and often a precise plan for the future, which is why they choose to expand certain subjects. In this school, most students choose science subjects.
