Help young people to open up again to real contact with their peers, not only virtual, a very helpful way to do this is through cultural exchanges, joint creative activities; make young people aware that the pandemic has had an impact on all of them and that the problem of mental health and looking after one's own well-being affects everyone and is a topic that should not be taboo, it should be discussed; Make young people aware of how our everyday actions affect the environment, what the consequences are and if and what an individual can do to reduce their negative impact; promote learning of other languages with an emphasis on German, which our school is particularly keen to promote
High School No. XIII, formerly known as School Complex No. 5, began international cooperation, back in 1996, as part of the Comenius programme, and has participated in it ever since. Since 2011, the teacher who initiated the projects at the school has been joined by another, who four years ago took over the reins of the project. It can therefore be said that participation in Comenius / Erasmus projects is a school tradition. As the previous project fell during a pandemic and 5 of the 6 mobilities did not take place, we decided to dedicate the latest short-term exchange to what we believe are the most pressing issues: help recover from the post-pandemic collapse and focus young people's attention on the most pressing problems that will have a direct impact on their quality of life in the decades to come. High School No. XIII is one of the largest schools in the city, with almost 1,300 students currently enrolled. One of the school's current goals is to promote classes with the DSD (Deutche Sprache Dimplom) programme, encouraging young people to learn German and to get to know our western neighbour.
