The main task was to: rebuild teacher and student well-being, strengthen commitment to teaching and learning, as well as to prevent teacher burnout and expand pro-ecological activities. The teacher was obliged to adapt curricula and adopt new pedagogical practices in order to teach effectively and in a modern way. In order to meet all these challenges, we had to learn to cope with professional burnout, with stress, to learn techniques to support greater attentiveness and care for their own and their students' mental health. We fostered health-oriented attitudes, broadened the spectrum of educational methods enabling us to help young people more effectively cope with the dangers of civilisation, peer pressure or expressing their own emotions. We have expanded pro-environmental activities related to the threats posed by climate change. We increased the language competences of teachers to enable more and more staff to participate in international projects, to involve more people in joint interdisciplinary projects. We have strengthened the international image of the school and further expanded international cooperation at the level of both staff and students.
The Stanisław Lem V High School in Koszalin is a youth-friendly school that serves the development of students. Thanks to our participation in the project, we have enriched the staff's workshop. We place great emphasis on developing students' individual interests, and the courses have given us new skills that we use in our everyday work. We offer extra-curricular activities to pupils, taking into account special needs in order to promote personal and professional development. We try to pass on to students the most important values, such as perseverance in achieving goals, the ability to acquire knowledge, the ability to self-realise, and care for our planet. We have classes with the following profiles: psychology, media, sports, biology and chemistry, language. Young people from different backgrounds, as well as those with special educational needs, study at the school - the latter follow a personal development plan with our psychologists and special education teachers. Our mission is to provide a welcoming, positive environment with a variety of extra-curricular programmes and opportunities for all students, including those with special educational needs, and to provide opportunities for staff development.
