The main theme of the project was salt, ancient and modern technologies for its extraction in Poland and partner countries, the use of salt, its use and importance. The choice of topic resulted from the fact that Bochnia is a salt town. We were looking for what unites the partner countries and this common salt and its use will allow us to better understand each other. Such searches allowed us to understand and present the partners' common features. Noticing similarities, differences and dissimilarities, as well as their full acceptance, was supposed to strengthen the sense of one's own identity, while shaping sensitivity to the identity of new colleagues. We wanted deepening knowledge about other cultures to reduce social distance and facilitate establishing interpersonal contacts. After completing the mobility, we expected that the participants would feel more confident in social situations and that their work skills would improve in a team, communicating in various situations, accepting and liking yourself, which will result in a significant increase in self-esteem in people with disabilities. The students were to improve their language and intercultural skills and learn about the geographical location and culture.
Special Educational Center named after priest Jana Twardowskiego in Bochnia educates and raises children and young people with mild, moderate, severe and profound intellectual disabilities.
