We aimed at improving the language skills of teachers of foreign languages and other subjects in order to continue international cooperation of our school and introducing the CLIL mehod to teach various subjects, counteracting teacher burnout, taking care of students' well-being - which turned out to be especially important after the pandemic - and increase the effectiveness of teaching and the attractiveness of the school by introducing innovative teaching methods that combine non-formal education (EOTC) and art therapy with the formal school practice. We wanted to increase the participation of teachers, especially those with less experience and not only those teaching foreign languages, in the implementation of interdisciplinary international projects in our school. We wanted to develop a package of attractive, interdisciplinary traditional and digital teaching materials, for the use in the classroom and online, in order to modernize the methodology and increase the attractiveness of the school's educational offer and its competitiveness on the education market. We also wanted to address the issues which are of great importance to our students, i.e. preventing climate change and learning about sustainability and circular economy
The project emphasized the professional development of teachers through participation in methodological and language courses in the EEA and EU, the aim of which was to strengthen the European component in the school, establish further partnerships, improve the language competences of participants allowing CLIL education, counteract teacher burnout and taking care of the well-being of students. The school has been operating on the education market for over 160 years - first as a private school, and for the past 100 years as a state general secondary school. It ensures increasingly better quality of education, which is visible in the results of external exams - e.g. 100% pass rate of the matriculation exam. It conducts general education, preparing graduates for further education at universities, which is carried out in classes with the following profiles: humanities with theatre education, law and media, mathematics and geography, mathematics and computer science and biology and chemistry. Teachers participating in the project teach various subjects in all profiles. The school also focuses on intl. cooperation and since 2001 has been running youth exchanges within initiatives (with PNWM) and in the Erasmus+, eTwinning and EPAS.
