One of the main objectives of the project was to create professional development opportunities for 30 students by gaining workshop experience abroad, as well as their personal development, language improvement, broadening their horizons and learning about the working culture in Portugal. The outcome of the project was to increase the students' attractiveness in the eyes of future employers and their mobility in both the national and European labour markets. In the project, we wanted to place great emphasis on developing the social competences of the students - increasing self-confidence in relation to other people, openness and readiness to cooperate, sensitising them to mental and cultural differences, promoting the fight against all forms of discrimination based on religion, race, disability or sexual orientation. Another achievement of the project was to be the further internationalisation of its mission and the promotion of cooperation internationally and between educational and training institutions to support mobility activities contributing to the internationalisation of education, aimed mainly at key groups of customers of educational services (i.e. learners including young people).
The project "Internships abroad as an opportunity for development" was implemented by the Krajowe Stowarzyszenie Wspierania Przedsiębiorczości from Końskie (the applicant organisation). KSWP is a non-profit organisation launched to create opportunities to improve the qualifications of people thriving on the labour market and to support the development of the MŚP sector. The Centrum Kształcenia Zawodowego i Ustawicznego from Szydłowiec and the Korpus Ochrony Pogranicza School Complex in Szydłowiec (PL), as well as DNA EUROPE from Lisbon, Portugal, were invited to participate in the project as partners. The project aimed to create opportunities for professional and personal development for 30 students of ZS and CKZiU in Szydłowiec. The students participating in the project had mostly never been abroad and do not have the opportunity to benefit from other forms of education than those offered by their school. The organisations hosting the students for the placements were companies from the city of Lisbon. The opportunity to do an internship in another country, exposed the students to other new work opportunities in their profession. The project also placed great emphasis on developing the social competences of the participants.
