Objectives

By implementing the Erasmus+ project no. 2022-1-PL01-KA131-HED-000052466 between June 1, 2022 and July 31, 2024, the University of Rzeszów aimed to significantly increase the university's internationalization capabilities, extending the existing cooperation with partner universities, as well as acquiring new institutions. The mobility project perfectly matched the assumptions of the University's mission, which has an extensive network of regional and pan-European contacts, which are aimed at expanding the activity of the University of Rzeszów in the international educational and scientific arena. The University's strategy places great emphasis on the internationalization of the university and the mobility of students and staff. The project was to increase the skills and professional competences of staff, therefore all types of mobility were planned, i.e. outgoing and incoming students for studies and internships, outgoing and incoming academic teachers for 8 hours of lectures, outgoing and incoming staff for training purposes. This was intended to enable the continuation of work on the quality of studies and to increase the innovation of scientific activities. Raising the qualifications of the project participants will allow to create an attractive offer of educational programs, similar to that of partner universities. Academics expected that the mobility would expand knowledge in the practical use of the English language and good practices in conducting classes in a multicultural environment, and that communication with foreign students would become much easier and more effective. The result of this knowledge will be not only the extension of the number of subjects at universities taught in English, but also a great openness to students from other countries, and a much better understanding of their needs on the part of the teacher. The University of Rzeszów also hoped to increase the transparency of education; increase in mutual trust between partner universities, increase in the quality of learning outcomes; focusing education on students and their achievements; reduction of training time; developing discussions between different staff about education systems. An important goal that UR wanted to achieve by implementing this project was to increase awareness among students and employees about the importance and necessity of participation in mobility. Participants will encourage and promote a program that will enable them to better plan and organize tasks, think logically and draw conclusions, develop new ideas and bring them to life or express themselves in a creative way. Participants will be more aware of social and political concepts such as democracy, justice, equality, citizenship, and human rights. All returning from abroad will be the ambassadors of the Erasmus+ program and through meetings with colleagues, friends or even at national and foreign conferences, they will disseminate the results of the project, sharing with all good practices taken from the partner institution and translating them into the home university. The University of Rzeszów fully recognizes each period of mobility realized in the project and the achievements of the participants, thus ensuring its students and employees full support for their future plans to participate in similar projects. Through the implementation of mobility projects, UR wants to join together with partner universities from different countries in the preparation of joint research and teaching projects, joint master's studies or the creation of European universities. Along with the dissemination of the project results, there will be a directly related development of the competences of the research and teaching staff in the field of modern teaching methods. Through the exchange, they develop their personal and professional competences in the context of their participation in conferences, seminars, training courses and events at the partner university, thus broadening their knowledge about the country, culture and ongoing scientific research. UR hoped that the participation of universities in the program would allow for greater recognition and effectiveness in the field of recruiting students for curricula at individual colleges and promoting the Polish language. The impact of the project on the participants, that is students and staff, was also supposed to be considerable: individual learning paths enabling students to freely choose the units of learning outcomes; broadening the content and specialization of qualifications; recognition of previous achievements; higher level of mobility; increase of opportunities for work abroad due to the common concept of education; increasing the level of mutual trust in the results of education; improving the descriptions of learning outcomes and the learning assessment process; increasing the quality of education for both students and staff.
