Objectives

By implementing the Erasmus+ international mobility project for students and staff, Krakow University of Economics (KUE) aimed to develop the University by pursuing several key strategic objectives enshrined in the ‘Strategy for international mobility of staff and students of the Cracow University of Economics’ and the ‘Erasmus Policy Statement for 2021 - 2027’, which support the development of both the individuals and the academic community as a whole by: 1. Enhancing the quality of education: By enabling students and staff to gain experience in an international academic environment, the university has created a framework for enriching the teaching process by introducing new teaching methods, diverse perspectives and innovative approaches to problem solving. 2. Internationalisation of the academic community: Through international exchanges, the university has been able to build recognition among foreign institutions and in the international academic community, which fosters new partnerships and cooperation with foreign research centres. The implementation of the Erasmus+ project has helped to promote the KUE curricula and international research, which has a direct impact on the capacity building of the university. Increasing the potential and international visibility of the university attracts a higher number of foreign students, which further strengthens KUE international position as an educational institution. In addition, the presence of foreign students and staff provides an additional component for the development of the educational process and the opportunity to broaden the experience with a multicultural context for those who have not participated in the exchange. 3. Development of intercultural competences: Participation in exchange programmes fosters the acquisition of skills to work in an international, culturally diverse environment. This is not only an added value for the students, but also for the teaching and administrative staff, who can use the experience to further develop the university. 4. Increasing the competitiveness of graduates: Participation in mobility programmes significantly improves students' chances in the both local international labour market. By supporting such initiatives, the University has sought to equip its graduates with knowledge, skills and experiences that are highly valued by employers. 5. Improving academic and administrative staff: Enabling the university's staff to participate in overseas training and teaching programmes allows them to improve their qualifications, which translates into better quality of teaching, modernisation of educational programmes and management at the university. By implementing the mobility project, the university therefore aimed to improve the quality of teaching, increase the attractiveness of its educational and research offer as well as increase its international recognition, which is part of the university's long-term development strategy in a dynamically changing academic world.
