Objectives

The primary goal of implementing the Erasmus+ project at the University of the Arts Poznań (UAP) was to foster an inclusive, diverse, and enriching international environment for our students and staff. We aimed to achieve several key objectives: 1. Enhancing Internationalisation: By facilitating student and staff mobilities, we sought to create a vibrant international community within our institution. This involved not only welcoming incoming students from partner universities but also encouraging our own students to take part in mobility programs abroad. We believe that exposure to different cultures and perspectives is essential in the fields of art and design, where global collaboration is increasingly important. 2. Improving Language Skills: A significant objective was to enhance the language proficiency of our participants. We recognized that effective communication is vital for both academic success and professional development. By implementing mobility programs, we aimed to create opportunities for students to improve their skills in both English and other foreign languages. Our data showed that a considerable percentage of students felt they had improved their language skills, which aligns with our objective of preparing them for international careers. 3. Fostering Cultural Exchange: We wanted to create opportunities for cultural exchange, allowing students to share their unique backgrounds and artistic perspectives. The annual exhibition showcasing works created by Erasmus students is a testament to this goal. By organizing the exhibition, we hoped to engage the local community and promote understanding and appreciation of different cultures. 4. Promoting Equal Opportunities: Ensuring equal access to the Erasmus+ program was a fundamental objective. We aimed to remove barriers that might prevent students from participating, especially those from underrepresented groups. Our initiatives included providing information on financial support for students with fewer opportunities and creating a supportive environment through the Erasmus Buddy Program. 5. Building Professional Networks: We aimed to help students build valuable professional networks during their mobility experiences. Many of our outgoing students reported receiving job offers from companies where they completed their traineeships. By encouraging students to share their experiences and engage with industry professionals, we sought to enhance their employability and readiness for the workforce. 6. Gathering Feedback for Continuous Improvement: Another key objective was to establish a feedback mechanism that would allow us to evaluate the effectiveness of our program. We implemented feedback sessions and digital surveys to gather insights from participants, which would inform future improvements. This commitment to continuous improvement ensures that our programs remain relevant and effective in meeting the needs of our students. 7. Increasing Institutional Visibility: We wanted to enhance the visibility of UAP on the international stage. By actively participating in the Erasmus+ program and engaging in international partnerships, we aimed to position ourselves as a leading institution for art and design education. Success stories and positive experiences from our participants were intended to be shared widely, showcasing the benefits of studying at UAP. 8. Strengthening Staff Development: We recognized the importance of staff mobility in enriching the educational experience we provide. By enabling staff members to engage in international collaborations, we aimed to enhance their skills and broaden their perspectives, ultimately benefiting our students. In summary, the implementation of the Erasmus+ project at UAP was driven by our commitment to internationalisation, cultural exchange, and the development of our students and staff. We aimed to create a supportive and inclusive environment that not only meets the needs of our participants but also contributes to the broader educational landscape. Through these efforts, we hope to inspire a new generation of artists and designers who are equipped to thrive in a globalized world.
